Josie Meets Dougal

Josie meets our friend Harriet's new puppy Dougal at the Saturday Market and can't wait to play!

Ready to Go

Josie all buckled in and ready to ride.

Grape Harvest

Josie helps herself to some of the ripening Concord grapes growing off the arbor over our back deck. We know grapes aren't good for dogs and have tried to keep them out of reach. But she's got a knack for sniffing out the ripe ones and then doing whatever she can to get to them!

Sorry Aunt Marney

Aunt Marney came to visit for the weekend. She decided to go for a jog and took Josie with her. Josie stopped suddenly to sniff something, and tripped Aunt Marney.

Fortunately nothing was broken, but Marney got some pretty nasty owies on her hands and knee. We all felt bad about the accident.

Josie tried to make up for it the only way she knew how.

Josie Running Wild

Sitting with Grandma

With the Prince clan in town for Steel Magnolias,
Josie gets reacquainted with Grandma Irene.

All Tongue

A tired Josie takes it easy on the couch.

Josie and Mr. Bear

Josie snuggles with her new toy Mr. Bear (which she picked out at a friend's garage sale all on her own). Lest you think we posed her this way, Josie somehow managed to put Mr. Bear in this funny choke hold all on her own.

Josie Dreaming

Kicking Back

Josie enjoys a rawhide chewy in a chair on the back deck.

Snuggle with Dad

Josie snuggles with dad on the couch.

Shady Spot

Josie finds a shady spot on the bottom back deck stair...
but discovers that her limbs are now too long and lanky to fit.

I want in!

Josie peers into the filling hot tub, eager to go for a swim.

Walnut Park

We took Josie to Walnut Park for the first time today. We had intended to just do the loop after a quick picnic dinner, but were pleasantly surprised to meet some other puppies. And of course, Josie wanted to play!

She ran and played with the dogs until she was tuckered out.
Then she sat with Bluebell and watched the others run.

All in all, she had a great time. We will definitely have to go back.

Car Wash

Josie takes her first ride through a car wash.

Evil Kitty

Josie attempts to squeeze under the futon to get to the evil looking kitty.

Josie and Megan

Megan is one of Josie's favorite people at the vet's office.

Our Girl

Tuckered Out

Tired after a long day of meeting new people at her party, Josie takes a breather in the backyard.

Family Reunion

Josie met up with her sister Maisy today. They haven't seen each other in over two months. Maisy was recently adopted by one of Carley's coworkers who lives down in Springfield. Her family brought her up for the BBQ so that she and Josie could reconnect.

They recognized each other immediately, and then spent the next three hours chasing each other all over the house and yard.

They ran and played until they both collapsed on the kitchen floor in similar poses.

We will have to arrange another play date soon!

Josie Cupcakes

Our neighbor Denise, who also spends time with Josie several days a week while we are at work, made these amazing cupcakes for Josie's BBQ. She took all of the pictures and stamped the backs with cute sayings.
Thank you, Denise! You are simply amazing!

Josie's BBQ

We had a BBQ today to officially welcome Josie to the family. People came from down the street and as far away as Madras and Seattle to help us celebrate. We had a great turn out. Everyone brought something to share, and we managed to keep cool despite the heat.

Josie enjoyed all of the extra attention and enjoyed meeting everyone. Especially the babies! Here she gives 7 month old Jackson kisses.

Thanks to everyone who made it. We had a wonderful time!

Snuggle

Josie snuggles with mom on the couch after a long day.

Balancing Act

Josie is willing to do whatever it takes to get to the kitty.

Sparring Buddies

Josie and Millie square off on the futon.

Fun with the Tarp

Josie has fun playing on the tarp Tammy set out to clean after camping.

Waiting Patiently

Josie waits patiently in the truck while dad runs into the store.

No Dogs Allowed

Although Josie wanted to participate in the Madras Relay for Life and help honor Grandma Irene by walking laps around the track, the event and grounds banned all canines. Mom and dad had to take turns being with her in the truck and on the other side of the fence.

Playing with Kitty

Josie attempts to engage Millie in a play session.

Sleepy Girls

Josie and mom crash on the ottoman after a long day.

Stuck!

Millie continues to remain unamused with all this puppy nonsense.

Crashed Again

Josie crashes on the futon after a play session with Bailey from next door. He wiped her out!

Fourth in Newport

We decided to celebrate the Fourth of July by taking Josie to the beach for the first time. It was supposed to be in the upper 80s in the Willamette Valley today, and nearly 70F at the coast, so we decided this would be the perfect opportunity.

When we arrived in Newport, it was sunny and beautiful...lots of blue sky, but just a tad bit windy. We should have packed our kite...and coats. We made the best of it though, and introduced Josie to sand and sea foam and salt water.

She wasn't too sure about getting in the water...the ocean is a bit brisk up here even in the summer time. But she enjoyed walking on the sand and sniffing seaweed and the various dead things that washed ashore. Good times.

We attempted to take a family portrait or two before the battery in our camera died (yes, forgot to pack the spare too), but we're still working on how to sit still for the camera. Next time.

Happy Fourth of July

Josie poses on the deck before we head to the beach for a Fourth of July picnic.

Snuggle with Frog

Josie snuggles her frog all on her own during a morning nap.

14 Weeks Today

At the age of 14 weeks, Josie is still small enough to fit on a shelf in the pantry.

Wanna Play?

Josie attempts to engage Bailey in another chase game around Tammy's yard.

Strike a Pose

Josie strikes a comfortable nap time pose.

Our Little Buttercup

Josie takes a rest on our walk in a field of buttercups at Starker Arts Park.
