Josie got some homemade jammies for Christmas this year.

She didn't seem to mind them at all, and proudly wore them as she walked up and down the street.

They were a little big in some places and a little small in others, but that's how it sometimes goes. We made many adjustments, and Josie tried on each fitting like a trooper.

I'm Improving

Mom and Dad,

Just a quick note.... Grandma said to tell you that I have been better about chewing things up. We went for a walk yesterday and heard a pack of coyotes howling. Boy that made the hair on the back of every ones neck stand up, including Grandma's. But what a beautiful walk we had. I am so hungry after these walks that Grandma has been feeding me a little extra. I am a growing puppy so she wants to make sure I am fine. I have another dog here that is about my age and we hit it off great. It's fun to have some one that wants to play all the time like I do.

I can't wait to see you tomorrow. I know you have been having fun but I miss you lots. Expect lots of slurps and kisses when you get to Grandma's.

Sorry Mom and Dad...I Did it Again

Dear Mom and Dad,

Well I did it again. This time grandpa was upset. Grandma and Grandpa had to
go to the store and I got to go with them while the other dogs had to stay
home.When they came back, Grandpa noticed I had chewed off the gear shift
handle. I just couldn't help myself. Grandma said "that's a puppy for
ya". They have a new nick name for me..."Chewy"

This morning while Grandma was in the bathroom, sitting on that silly white
thing doing what ever, I got into my goody bag and ate two bags of food. She
said she knew something was up cause I got quiet. It's a good thing she loves
me so much. Of course it helps to bat my big brown eyes at her. That seems
to make her melt. I can wrap her around my paw with just that look. I was
just so hungry this morning I couldn't wait for her to get us breakfast. On
the good side she says that I am really good at asking to go out side to
go potty. At least I don't sit on that silly white thing. I think
Grandma should just come outside with us in the morning. Well, have fun.

Hello Mother, Hello Father

Dear Mom and Dad,

I surprised grandma with a little house decorating while she was in the shower this morning. You should have seen the look on her face. I took two toilet paper rolls, 3 toys and a rubber ball and tore them all up just to surprise her. And I have to say apparently it worked. But she was a good sport about the whole thing. She told me that it's to be expected cause I am just a baby, but I had better not do it again, and said she has forgotten what a little one is like. But it sure was fun. We have been going on really long walks deep into the woods. I stay close to grandma until one of the other dogs can entice me into a game of chase. Grandma is very proud of me coming back when she calls me. Not like Sophie who ignores her.

I have been eating really good and get a dog cookie when I finish my meal. I try to finish everyone's meal so Grandma has to watch me closely. Quincey growled at me today when I tried to eat his breakfast, so grandma stepped between us. Well the stove buzzer is going off and since I need grandma to translate this from arf arf to words I have to go.

Aunt Marney came to visit for the weekend. She decided to go for a jog and took Josie with her. Josie stopped suddenly to sniff something, and tripped Aunt Marney.

Fortunately nothing was broken, but Marney got some pretty nasty owies on her hands and knee. We all felt bad about the accident.

We took Josie to Walnut Park for the first time today. We had intended to just do the loop after a quick picnic dinner, but were pleasantly surprised to meet some other puppies. And of course, Josie wanted to play!

All in all, she had a great time. We will definitely have to go back.

Family Reunion

Josie met up with her sister Maisy today. They haven't seen each other in over two months. Maisy was recently adopted by one of Carley's coworkers who lives down in Springfield. Her family brought her up for the BBQ so that she and Josie could reconnect.

They recognized each other immediately, and then spent the next three hours chasing each other all over the house and yard.

They ran and played until they both collapsed on the kitchen floor in similar poses.

We will have to arrange another play date soon!

Our neighbor Denise, who also spends time with Josie several days a week while we are at work, made these amazing cupcakes for Josie's BBQ. She took all of the pictures and stamped the backs with cute sayings.
